Washington Post: "Doubting Gauguin" -  Jul 30, 2020

Two major US museums are to examine claims that their Gauguin paintings are fakes. The pictures are The Invocation (1903) at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and Women and a White Horse (1903) at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Companies linked to two Russian oligarchs exploited the opaqueness of the art world to buy high-value art, bypassing U.S. sanctions, according to a report by the U.S. Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
